For more than four decades, the new Ford F-150 has been the best-selling pickup truck in the North American market. The sales success of this full-size truck has a lot to do with the commitment by Ford executives to ensure that all models in the F-Series continue to improve with each new model year; this is accomplished through constant improvements and upgrades.
The new F-150 models arriving at Friendly Ford are part of the 14th generation of this reliable truck. For the 2024 model year, the F-150 will be the first to sport Ford's redesigned logo, a retro version of the blue oval. Other exterior styling changes include a more prominent grille and a rectangular array of LED headlights.
A new set of wheel designs also injects a bit of retro styling into the F-150, which now offers the Pro Access Tailgate system as optional equipment. In essence, the new tailgate system allows you to access items in the truck bed through a hinged side panel; this is particularly useful when towing a trailer because you don't need to detach it to get some tools or materials.
New Ford F-150 Powertrain Options
The standard V6 engine of the F-150 has been replaced by the 2.7-liter EcoBoost® V6 with turbocharging; this is a significant horsepower upgrade that you have the option to improve with a 3.5-liter V6, a 5.0-liter V8, or a new hybrid power plant. Keep in mind that diesel powertrain options for the F-150 came to an end in 2023.
New F-150 models now have a 12-inch touchscreen that lets you operate the Ford SYNC® infotainment system. Other technology upgrades include the BlueCruise driver-assist system, a heads-up display option, and a vehicle locating system in case the truck is stolen.
