New Ford Expedition SUVs in Las Vegas

A Powerful SUV

The big selling point of the Expedition versus other SUV options, even those from Ford, is the vehicle's overall power. Using a 3.5-liter engine based on Ford's EcoBoost system, the Expedition delivers 380 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Its peaking towing setup can pull 9,300 pounds, a figure worth many full-size pickups. Also, the Expedition uses a body-on-frame system that allows the manufacturer to install a tougher truck-style frame. Consequently, the Expedition's frame can handle the strain of pulling trailers that other SUVs can't handle.

The Expedition is available in rear- and four-wheel drive. A ten-speed automatic transmission is standard, too. The Expedition's fuel economy aligns with its full-size SUV class at 16 mpg city and 23 mpg highway. You benefit from a truck-like 23.3-gallon tank, so long trips should never be a concern.

Ford Style

Today's Expedition balances traditional Ford SUV styling and modern automotive trends. It has a wide grille full of geometric features, and the headlamp assembly extends from the grille. The fog lights are recessed in coves, a sportier and more modern look. The Expedition has a more visible roof rack than many of today's SUVs. It features a large and boxy profile consistent with its status as a three-row SUV. Chrome, off-road sport, and blackout options are available for the exterior style.

Comfort comes first in the Expedition's interior. A spacious cabin favors passenger legroom over storage. Two-tone interior style packages with leather seating are available, giving the Expedition a competitive level of luxury. Ford offers excellent stitching with every Expedition. Technophiles will also love the gigantic touchscreen display options for the dash, too.

Features

The Expedition is a tech-friendly SUV with an infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Buyers can choose audio packages that range from six to 22 speakers, too. A panoramic sunroof is also available. Ford also includes a range of safety techs like adaptive cruise controls and emergency automated braking.

Trims

Seven trims are available for the Expedition, but Ford also offers Max, Fleet, and STX packages extending many trims. The XL is Ford's entry-level version of the Expedition, and the XLT offers the first set of comfort upgrades. Drivers who want more luxury features and better tech should check out the Limited. The Platinum is the peak luxury package with a 22-speaker stereo system, 22-inch wheels, and top-tier leather seats. You also can get the King Ranch, an Expedition with Western style notes. Finally, there is the off-road-happy Timberline.

The Max package offers a wheelbase and body. Max packages are available for all of the trims except for the Limited. The STX package is only available for the XL and is a style package focusing on chrome accents. Fleet versions of the XL and XLT are available to organizational buyers like companies and government agencies.
